From Professor to Banker to Builder: The Legacy of Léon Courville
It all began in the early 80s with a detour onto a dirt road in Lac-Brome. Léon Courville discovered such an inspiring panorama there that he decided to plant his family's roots.
A career banker, an intellectual at heart, Léon found his anchor in the land. At the dawn of his retirement in 1999, this wine enthusiast took on a crazy challenge: to transform this corner of the country into a vineyard. Supported by his loved ones, he planted the first vines of an estate that today boasts over 100,000.
Although he passed away in 2023, his spirit permeates every row of vines. At Vignoble Courville, we honor his legacy: a culture that respects the earth, simplicity in the cellar, and that unblemished pleasure of sharing a glass facing the horizon.
Our wines take shape in the soil, with the rhythm of the seasons, long before entering the cellar. Visiting our vineyard is much more than a tasting – it's a complete experience, rooted in the terroir and driven by a passionate team.

Each vintage is first built in the vineyard. The cellar merely accompanies what has already begun. Our commitment: honest work, from soil to bottle.
A Unique Terroir
Our vineyard, nestled on the slopes of Mont Brome, is in a pivotal area located between what, 12,000 years ago, were the glaciers of the Champlain Sea and Lake Candona.
2025: The Evolution of Courville Vineyard
The year 2025 marks a major strategic turning point for our domain with the introduction of our first certifications and the launch of new product lines.
Our First Collection of Organic Wines
We are launching our first wines certified organic by Ecocert Canada. This transition highlights the terroir of the Eastern Townships through three flagship cuvées:
- L'Arabesque (Organic White Wine)
- Le Romanesque (Organic Rosé Wine)
